Chris’s lesson program is tailored to each individuals age and skill level. After the first lesson, Chris will give each player a plan of action and drills he would like the player to start working on at home. Lessons will focus on the following-Tracking the Baseball, On Deck preparation, Vision cues for picking up spin/type of pitch, Stance, Head position, Load to Explode goal, swing path, contact zone, finish and follow through and a variety of hitting situations.(counts to hit in) McKnight uses his experience as a baseball vision coach at the collegiate and pro levels to get his hitters to “see the ball” and create quality at bats. Players will use Strobe Glasses, Vision Rings, Bat Rac, Sweet Spot Bat, Swift Stik plus a number of other training tools that enhance and develop a player’s vision and tracking ability.
Chris relies on various training bats during the off-season to help each hitter create better bat path, exit velo and hand speed. He would like all of his students to have a wood bat for training in the off-season. Hitters 11 and up are encouraged to purchase a Blast Motion sensor for hitting. Coach McKnight can monitor the hitters progress, even when they are working at home. It’s a great tool not only for coach and player swing mechanics but also accountability for the player. Chris also utilizes Hack Attack pitching machines to work on tracking, breaking balls and of course fastballs.
Most important Coach McKnight will help your son understand the mental side of hitting and what it takes to become a successful hitter-and by the way it has nothing to do with batting average!
Chris is also available for clinics and speaking enagagements. He loves talking to young players about his Commitment, Communication and leadership system that he has used with all of his successful teams.
